The Violet Naped Lory (Lorius domicella) is also known as Purple Naped Lory. It is found in both primary and secondary montane and sub-montane forests, sometimes preferring ridges, within a fairly restricted altitudinal range between 300 and 1100 m., but only popular above 600 m. The population of this species has reported to have fallen below 2,500 mature individuals.
