Geoffroy’s Marmoset

About Geoffroy’s Marmoset

The Geoffroy’s Marmoset (Callithrix geoffroyi) is also known as the White Headed Marmoset and Tufted Ear Marmoset. Geoffroy’s Marmosets are omnivores native to the lowland rainforests of Brazil. They are about 20 cm in length with a tail of about another 29 cm and weigh between 260 and 380 gm. They have blackish-brown coats with elongated black ear tufts. They have white foreheads and cheeks, with dark brown under parts and a lightly ringed black tail. They live in large social groups and are monogamous by nature.
