The Blue Throated Conure (Pyrrhura cruentata) is also known as the Ochre-marked Parakeet. It inhabits the canopy of lowland humid forest and edge and has also been found in small clearings and selectively logged forests. Extensive and continuing forest clearance has been responsible for the decline in the number of this bird. Its current distribution is highly fragmented and mostly restricted to isolated reserves.
