The Palm Cockatoo (Probosciger aterrimus), also known as the Goliath Cockatoo or Great Black Cockatoo, is a large smoky-grey or black parrot of the Cockatoo family. It lives in rainforests and woodlands. It has a very large black beak and prominent red cheek patches. It has a unique territorial display where the male bird drums with a large stick or seed pod against a dead bough or tree, creating a loud noise that can be heard upto 100 m away.
